Helvar is a leading provider of intelligent lighting solutions for commercial buildings. With over 100 years of experience in the lighting industry, Helvar offers a range of advanced lighting control systems that enable building owners and managers to optimize energy efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the user experience. The Helvar Insights platform is a cloud-based solution that allows users to monitor and manage their building's lighting control system. By providing real-time data on energy usage, occupancy, and lighting control, the platform enables users to make informed decisions about their buildings' lighting systems and optimize energy efficiency. With advanced features like predictive maintenance and customizable dashboards, the Helvar Insights platform is a powerful tool for building owners and managers looking to improve the performance of their lighting systems.
As a member of the Helvar Insights platform team, I was tasked with improving the system to allow for the management of multiple floors of a building simultaneously, as well as the ability to choose specific room types to control the lighting system. With the help of my supervisor, we ideated three different solutions to address this issue. I then shared my low-fidelity prototypes with the cross-functional team, which included engineers and marketing professionals. During the presentation, I received valuable feedback from the team that helped me identify the solution that was most valued by the group and I created a high- fidelity prototype of it.
WHAT WE DID
RESULT
The new feature allowed users to easily manage the lighting system for multiple floors of a building from a single interface, as well as choose specific room types to control. This improvement not only made the platform more user-friendly but also provided increased functionality for building managers and owners. Thanks to the collaborative effort of the team and my supervisor's guidance, we were able to successfully improve the Helvar Insights platform and provide an enhanced experience for our users. https://helvar.com/helvar-insights/
